New Grad Nurse Transition into Practe Program (NG TIPP)
 

Courses/learning activities are facilitated by expert clinicians and mentors. The curriculum was developed using the National Council State Boards of Nursing Transition into Practice Model as the organizing framework. You will make decisions, set priorities, and apply current research to clinical settings. This program is recommended for New Graduate Nurses (holding an active RN license) who are either employed or are seeking their first job in health care. The program generates 40 CEUs.

Managing the Changing Patient Condition

Current medical diagnoses and evidence based nursing interventions are explored in a small group, interactive one four-hour round table discussion. Pathophysiology and pharmacology are reviewed in an effort to help the participant explore the role of the nurse in managing the changing patient condition. The discussions are framed in QSEN competencies. Discussions are facilitated by nurse content experts. Simulation and comprehensive case studies may be used as teaching strategies. Preceptor Development Program
 

The HCTA Preceptor Development Program assists you in the development of your role as a nurse preceptor. You will learn effective tools that will guide new and returning nurses through their through transition to professional practice.

In the Preceptor Development Program, strategies will be presented that will increase preceptee motivation, enhance effective interaction with adult learners, teach new nurse time management and critical thinking skills, expand your skills in working  with diversities, optimize communication techniques, and assess new and returning nurse professional progression. The course is presented in a blended format including Interactive learning activities and in person discussions, simulated exercises and case studies.

The Preceptor Development Program is approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing for 13 CEUs
